Bio:

Daniel Courtney brings an interdisciplinary background that stems from not only a deep understanding in the humanities and social sciences, but also from a thorough proficiency in comprehending the interaction between humans and technology. He is a graduate of the Master in Human Computer Interaction (M.Sc.) from the University of Siegen, and of the Bachelor in Psychology (B.Sc.) from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Before joining the chair for Information Systems and Sustainable Supply Chain Management, he worked as a student research assistant for the chair of Ubiquitous Design / Experience & Interaction at the University of Siegen for over two years. In doing so alongside his studies, he was able to fortify his quantitative-knowledge base that was previously established during his bachelors with the fundamental methods and techniques utilized within qualitative data collection, user research and its analysis.

His passion for understanding how we, as human beings, work has only fueled his pursuit in further understanding how we, as users, experience the everchanging interfaces and technologies of today and the future. Due to his inquisitive personality and fascination with human nature, his interests have led him to further his knowledge within the fields of UX Design, Service Design, and Usability.
